Two students hacked to death in Patuakhali

Two students were allegedly hacked to death over previous enmity at Bauphal upazila in Patukhali district on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased Maruf, 15, son of Bablu and Nafis, 15, son of Miraj Mostofa, were the tenth graders of Indrakul High School of the upazila.
According to locals, some students of class IX --Raihan Kazi, Hasibul Kazi, Saikat and Naeem—had locked into an altercation with tenth graders -- Siam, Enamul, and Nafis at a waz mahfil (religious gathering) held at Pangasia village few days ago.

Raihan and Hasibul called Siam, Enamul and Nafis at Pangasia Bridge of the village under Surzamani union of the upazila around 5pm after school period and on stage they along with their cohorts allegedly stabbed them, leaving them critically injured.

The injured were taken to Bauphal Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor referred Maruf and Nafis to Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital as their condition deteriorated. But the doctors of hospital declared dead on their arrival.

Bauphal Police Station officer-in-charge Al-Amin said being informed police went to spot.

Legal procedures are under process in this regard, the official added.
