Police charge batons on Jamaat'e rally at Panthapath

Police on Monday charged batons on a rally after procession organised by Dhaka City South of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at Panthapath in the capital.

The procession was organised at Pantahpath in the capital by Dhaka City South of Jamaat-e-Islami on Monday. Following the procession, a brief rally was arranged at Green Road. At that time, police suddenly launched an attack and charged batons of the leaders and workers of the party. Police also arrested several leaders and workers from the spot.
The Dhaka City South of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami brought out the procession and held the rally demanding the release of party's ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman and other leaders and workers, withdrawal of false cases against them and establishing a caretaker government.

The procession led by Dhaka City South of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami nayebe ameer Advocate Dr Helal Uddin paraded Pantahpath and surrounding roads and ended through a brief rally.
