105 institutions fined for selling products at higher prices

The Directorate of National Consumers' Rights Protection (DNCRP) on Tuesday fined about Tk 5 lakh to 105 institutions across the country on the charge of selling products including potatoes, onions and eggs at higher prices.

The DNCRP source said a total of 49 teams from the directorate conducted raids at 64 markets throughout the country including Dhaka and other cities and imposed the fine.
Of them, three teams conducted operations in Dhaka city.

The activities will be continued in the protection of consumers' rights, the directorate source said.
