Devon Conway becomes 1st centurion of World Cup


New Zealand opener Devon Conway has become the first centurion in the 2023 World Cup after English batter Joe Root hit the first fifty in the opening game of the tournament.

He reached his milestone facing just 83 deliveries while chasing 283 runs against England at the  Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Thursday. Conway remains unbeaten on 108 with his partner Rachin Ravindra (97) while the team's score was 208/1 in 28 overs.
Earlier, Joe Root hit the first fifty in the tournament to help England post 282 runs on the board.
