Richard Beard's Editing Workshop

Published : Saturday, 19 November, 2016 at 12:00 AM  Count : 235
At Cosmic Tent, sharp at 4:45, sets off a session --- very lively and effective --- titled Richar Beard's Editing Workshop where novelist, non-fiction writer, and Director of National Academy of Writing Richard Beard publicly edited literary write-ups.
This interactive session precisely explains when one can be grammatically irregular in fictions, depending on the subject matter, and when one can invent new words. The session also elaborates when to use compact phrases or clauses, and when one should prolong the sentences. The rules and roles of an editor is well-briefed in this one-hour session.
At the end, Richard well-answered queries raised in the Tent. He distinctively states how the line is drawn between 'best fit in' and 'offending author's sensibilities'. Editors --- the unsung heroes --- are not anti-authors; author should realize that editors make other's write-ups improve, says Richard.
Richard edited live two fictional essays consisting one poetry written by the audiences.
