RUET student injured in crude bomb blast

A student of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) was injured after a crude bomb exploded beside him in Gorhanga Railgate Cemetery of Rajshahi town on Tuesday evening.

The injured was Sangram Kumar, 24, a final year student of electrical and electronic department (EEE) at RUET and a resident of Selim Hall of the university.

He is now undergoing treatment at ward no. 4 of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).

Suhrawardy Hossain, officer-in-charge of Boalia Model Police Station, said that a crude bomb exploded beside Sangram in the area at around 6pm, leaving him injured.

They have collected the evidence of cocktail but no one has been arrested yet.

He said police are trying to identify the accused by analyzing the CCTV footage and will take necessary actions later.
