Prez, PM condole death of Emir of Kuwait

President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in separate messages expressed deep sorrow over the death of Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Saba and expressed heartfelt sympathies for the bereaved members of the royal family for the irreparable loss.

In a condolence message sent to Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of State of Kuwait, the President said his contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Kuwait, as well as the development of the Islamic world, will be remembered for long.
The President wished peace, development and progress of the people of Kuwait and hoped that  cooperation between the two countries would be strengthened in the days to come.

President Shahabuddin prayed for the eternal peace of the departed Emir of Kuwait and conveyed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family and the people of Kuwait.

In a separate message of condolence, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wrote: "The brotherly people and the government of Bangladesh join me in expressing our profound condolences and sorrow to the brotherly people of Kuwait and heartfelt sympathies for the bereaved members of the royal family for the irreparable loss. I pray to Allah (SWT) to grant him the best place in the Jannah."

"Sheikh Nawaf was a committed, dynamic, and visionary leader of global stature of our time," the Prime Minister said.

"He (the Emir) certainly left a legacy of dedication, sacrifice, and achievements for the world to pursue," she said, adding: "A grand champion of the cause of the Arab and Muslim Ummah, he was a trusted and generous friend of Bangladesh."

She said: "I recall with profound gratitude His Highnesss immense contributions to the welfare of the Bangladeshi expatriate community living in Kuwait."

"I also remember his enthusiasm and sincere efforts to advance Bangladesh-Kuwait bilateral relations," she said.

She said the late Emir will be remembered for his enduring humanitarian efforts and leadership in the Middle East and beyond.

Sheikh Hasina wished the Kuwaiti prime minister good health, personal well-being, and happiness and the brotherly People of Kuwait continued peace, progress, and prosperity.

Sheikh Hasina said in her message that she looks forward to working together with Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah towards achieving strong collaboration for the mutual benefit of the two brotherly Peoples of Bangladesh and Kuwait, according to a release.
