Captains of both mens and womens national football teams of the country had expressed their high hopes for a successful year in 2024 as both were optimistic about more accomplishments, developments and good things in the Football arena in the new year.

The last year gave a mixed feeling as there were some achievements and some disappointments in the arena.

Bangladesh National Football Team captain Jamal Bhuiyan expressed his belief that the new year will be better. Sabina Khatun, the captain of the womens national football team, said that 2023 had not been bad for womens football. Looking forward to the new year. Sabina was expecting more international friendly matches to do well in this year.

Sabina said, "The experience obtained in the 2023 Asian Games was fruitful for the betterment of our booters. The ending was good for us. We did well against Singapore in two matches at the end of the year. Ultimately, we can say that the year 2023 was a successful one."

"Our goal is to do well in SAFF. We are moving forward with SAFF in our minds. If we can play more domestic games, it will be a good thing. The most important factor would be playing more friendly matches. We need more international matches. Since there is a SAFF Championship in October this year, I think there is no alternative to play more international friendly matches," she said.

Mens National Football Team captain Jamal Bhuiyan said, "I hope everyone enjoyed the year 2023. I think we performed well.

Apart from good results, there were some disappointments as well. But I think 2023 was very positive for Bangladesh Football.

If Allah permits, I want 2024 to be a better one. I expect that we will move ahead this year. We have already proved that we can compete with stronger teams."
