Narail-2: Mashrafe's rival withdraws candidacy

The Independent candidate for Narail-2 constituency Syed Faizul Amir Litu withdrew his candidature and announced to support his rival AL backed nominee Mashrafe Bin Mortaza in the 12th parliamentary election.

Syed Faizul Amir Litu came up with the decision at a press conference held at his house on Wednesday said he withdrew his candidacy completely voluntarily. He also said that he announced his withdrawal to support Mashrafe.
He was considered as the main rival of Awami League-nominated candidate and incumbent MP, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.

At the press conference, the former general secretary of Lohagara Upazila Awami League Syed Faizul Amir Litu urged his followers and supporters to work for Mashrafe and strengthen the hand of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by voting for the 'Boat' symbol.

Litu was the Vice -President of Mirpur Govt Bangla College unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League, Organizing Secretary of Lohagara Upazila Awami League from 2004 to 2014, General Secretary of Lohagara Upazila Awami League from 2014 to 2020 and Chairman of Lohagara Upazila Parishad.
