Shariatpur-Chandpur ferry service resumes after 7 hrs

SHARIATPUR, Jan 12: The ferry movement on the Shariatpur-Chandpur route has returned to normal after being closed for seven hours due to dense fog.

BIWTC Ghat Authority normalized the ferry service from 8:30 am on Friday.
Earlier on Friday, the ferry service on the route was stopped from 1 am.

BIWTC Narsinghapur Ferry Ghat Manager Iqbal Hossain said dense fog appeared from Thursday night. To avoid accidents in the fog, ferries are closed on the route from 1 am.

Later on, when the dense fog cleared, the ferry service was resumed at around 9 am on Friday. Currently, five ferries ply on the route, the manager added.
