Cold-hit people get blankets in 3 dists

Blankets were distributed among the cold-hit poor people in three districts- Khagrachhari, Patuakhali and Gaibandha, on Tuesday and Wednesday.
RAMGARH, KHAGRACHHARI: Members of Bangladesh Army distributed blankets among the cold-affected helpless people in Ramgarh Upazila of the district on Wednesday.
These blankets were distributed at Ramgarh Government High School in the morning at a programme organized by 20 ECB Ramgarh Project Camp under the initiative of Armys 34 Engineer Construction Brigade.
At that time, 20 ECB Ramgarh Project Officer Captain Abu Saleh were present as the chief guest while among others, 20 ECB Warrant Officer Imran Shikder, Ramgarh Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Anwar Faruk, journalists and beneficiaries were also present.
BAUPHAL, PATUAKHALI: Blankets were distributed among the destitute people in Bauphal Upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The distribution programme was organized at Kalishuri Ashrayan Prakalpa in the upazila.
Patuakhali Deputy Commissioner Md Noor Kutubul Alam was present as the chief guest while Bauphal Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Bashir Gazi presided over the programme.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Pratik Kumar Kundu, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Rajib Biswas and Kalishuri Union Parishad Chairman Nesar Uddin Shikder, among others, were also present during the distribution.
GAIBANDHA: Zakat Foundation of America, Bangladesh Country Office, distributed blankets among the cold-affected people of Sundarganj Upazila in the district on Tuesday afternoon.
Sundarganj Upazila administration organized the distribution programme on the premises of the Upazila Parishad, from where the warm clothes were provided to 300 helpless, elderly, orphans and poor but brilliant students of the upazila.
Sundarganj UNO Tariqul Islam formally distributed the blankets to the beneficiaries as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, UNO Islam thanked the foundation for standing beside the cold-affected persons with warm clothes to mitigate their sufferings caused by on-going cold wave sweeping the district.
Upazila Accounts Officer Razibul Islam, Upazila
Youth Development Officer Abu Zafar Loskor, Upazila ICT Programmer Krishna Chandra Sarker, Programme Manager of the foundation Rezaul Karim and local journalists, among others, were also present at that time.
Programme Manager Rezaul Karim said similar activity was also conducted to the cold victims of Fulchhari and Saghata upazilas in the district on Tuesday and 600 pieces of blankets were distributed among the poor and distressed people through the upazila administration.
