Cold patients on the rise in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, Jan 20: Tough breath and diarrhoea are continuing to affect people in the district.

Along with severe cold, different cold diseases including tough breath and diarrhoea are affecting people unabated. Children and adult are mostly affected.

According to sources at the Civil Surgeon Office-Dinajpur, in the last four days, 885 tough breath and 2,599 diarrhoea  patients were admitted to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital, 250-Bed General Hospital and other government hospitals in Dinajpur.

The information of cold disease patients in private hospitals is not available.

From January 15 to 18, no death was reported.

Dr AHM Borhan-ul-Islam Siddiqi  said, though the cold diseases are increasing, the situation is not severe.

He advised people not to go out without special needs. He asked for keeping children warmed with warm clothes.

At present, Dinajpur is experiencing dense fog. The sun is not appearing. With each day passing, the temperature is falling.

Physicians advised drinking pure water. Patients were asked not to apply anti-histamine and anti-biotic without doctors prescription.
   
Acting  Officer of Dinajpur  Weather Office Asaduzzaman said, at present the mild cold wave is flowing.
