40 people injured from dog bites in Sherpur


At least 40 people including children and women were injured after being bitten by mad dog on Monday morning in Sherpur's Nalitabari upazila.

The incident took place at Gaglajani village under Kalaspar union of the upazila.
The injured are currently being treated at Sherpur Sadar Hospital.

According to locals, a mad dog suddenly started biting people in Gaglajani area in the morning. After biting people from Purba Kalaspar, the dog moved towards Ghazirkhamar. At that time, around 40 people including children, men, women and elderly people were bitten and injured.

Later, locals rescued the injured and took to Sherpur Sadar Hospital.

Kalaspar UP Chairman Abdul Majeed confirmed the news and said as soon as the dog bite was reported, he visited the scene and saw the injured at the hospital. The bitten injured are receiving first aid and vaccines from District Sadar Hospital.
