Cold-hit people get blankets in eight districts

Blankets were distributed among the cold-hit poor people in eight districts- Rajbari, Joypurhat, Patuakhali, Panchagarh, Dinajpur, Gopalganj, Thakurgaon and Natore, recently.

RAJBARI: Rajbari Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abu Qaiser Khan distributed blankets among the underprivileged disabled people and helpless women in Goalanda Upazila of the district on Thursday.

These blankets from Prime Ministers relief fund were distributed in the hall of Mukti Mahila Samiti at Daulatdia in the upazila.

Goalanda Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Jyoti Bikas Chandra presided over the event where Additional DC (General) Suborn Rani Saha, Goalanda Upazila Parishad Chairman Mustafa Munsi, Vice-Chairman Asaduzzaman Chowdhury, Women Vice-Chairman Nargis Parveen, Daulatdia Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Abdur Rahman Mandal, Project Implementation Officer Abu Said Mandal, Social Service Officer Ruhul Amin, Mukti Mahila Samiti Director Morjina Begum, and Asahay Nari Oikya Parishad President Jhumur Begum, among others, were also present during the distribution.
Mukti Mahila Samiti Program Director Ataur Rahman Manju conducted the programme.

JOYPURHAT: Blankets were distributed among 100 helpless family members of the martyred of the Liberation War in 1971 on Tuesday.
Joypurhat District Unit of Jatiya Rabindra Sangeet Sammilan Parishad organized the distribution programme at Shaheed Dr Abul Kashem Field in the town in association with the district administration.   
President of District Unit of Jatiya Rabindra Sangeet Sammilan Parishad Aminul Haque Babul presided over the programme.
Former Commander of District Muktijoddha Sangsad Freedom Fighter (FF) Amzad Hossain, FF Maznur Rahman, District Organizer of Khelaghar Asar Tabibar Rahman, and Anandadhara School President Principal Akhterul Haque, among others, were also present during the distribution.
BAUPHAL, PATUAKHALI: Aiming to protect the cold-affected destitute people of Bauphal Upazila in the district, DCI-RSC collaboration of IFIC Bank PLC organized a two-day blanket distribution programme.
The programme has been started on Tuesday, and continued till Wednesday. Blankets were distributed among 1,000 cold-stricken distressed people including orphaned children in the upazila and 150 children and older people in Keraniganj of Dhaka.
On Tuesday, the distribution programme has inaugurated by Bauphal UNO Md Bosir Gazi and DCI Founder and Honorary Executive Director Dr Ehsan Hoque. All the distressed people were very happy to have the blankets in this bitter cold weather.
"This year the weather is very colder. So I was very troubled in winter. This blanket will be very useful for me and I will sleep comfortably at Night. said 75 year-old Sona Mia.
Honourable Executive Director of DCI Dr Ehsan Hoque joined the blanket distribution event via video call and said, "DCI-RSC along with IFIC Bank will continue such public service-oriented activities and stand by these needy in any difficult situation. We are grateful to IFIC Bank Ltd for takings these philanthropic steps for the indigent people."
Bauphal UNO Md Bosir Gazi has expressed his warm gratitude to DCI-RSC and IFIC Bank for undertaking such a noble initiative and thanked for considering the people of Bauphal for distributing blankets. Besides, Kalaiya Union Parishad Chairman SM Faisal Ahmed, ASM Kobirujjaman, lecturer of Nowmala Abdur Rashid Khan Degree College, Bauphal Social Welfare Officer Md Monirujjaman and distinguished guests from the local community were present at the distribution programme. RSC Area Manager Md Sirajul Islam Rahaq moderated the inauguration ceremony.
PANCHAGARH: Blankets were distributed among the cold-hit poor people in Boda Upazila of the district on Monday.
Bangladesh Central Chhatra League (BCL) Central Committee President Saddam Hossain handed over this gift of winter under the banner of Tarunya Garbe Panchagarh, at the central Shaheed Minar of the Thakurgaon-Panchgarh highway in the municipal area of Boda. Earlier, from the first week of January, this BCL leader distributed a total of 15,000 blankets among the destitute people of 20 unions and two municipalities in Boda and Debiganj upazilas of the district.
Joint General Secretary (GS) of Upazila Unit Awami League (AL) Rabiul Alam Sabul presided over the function.
Boda Municipality Mayor Azahar Ali, Municipal AL President Imtiyaz Hossain Mirza, District BCL Vice-President Abdur Rahim Ripon, Boda Upazila Juba League GS Mostafizur Rahman, and former GS of Upazila BCL Rasheduzzaman Babu, among others, were also present during the distribution.
 District Unit JASAd President Emran Al Amin spoke at the programme as an invited guest.
Upazila AL members and its allied organizations leaders, supporters and public representatives of the area were also present in the event.
The programme was conducted by former leader of the BCL Noore Alam Siddiqui Tenzing.
The coordinator of the blanket distribution programme was the former leader of the BCL Amiya Alam Ami.
BCL Central Committee Organizing Secretary Siam Rahman, Office Secretary Meftahul Panth, Deputy Publicity Secretary BM Jabal E Rahmat, Deputy Relief and Disaster Affairs Secretary Mamun Ali, and Deputy Office Secretary Tanbir Ahmed Swadhin were also present there.
On the occasion, blankets were distributed among 1,500 people of the municipality as a gift. In the afternoon, the BCL president distributed blankets as a gift among 1,500 people of the municipality in Debiganj.
Earlier, he concluded the programme of distribution of blankets as a warm gift to two municipalities including 20 unions of Boda and Debiganj upazilas on behalf of the honourable Prime Minister under the banner of Tarunya Garbe Panchagarh.
NAWABGANJ, DINAJPUR: Blankets were distributed among the cold-hit destitute people of ethnic community in Nawabganj Upazila of the district on Monday.
Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB), a non-governmental development organization, has distributed these blankets among about 500 poor people of small ethnic groups at Khalilpur and Harirampur villages of the upazila.
CCDB Executive Director Juliet Keya Malakar was present as the chief guest at the programme and handed over these blankets.
CCDP Admin Coordinator Ivan Parag Sarkar, CCDB-CPRP-Daudpur Project Area Manager Harisadan Roy, and Program Officer Hubert Barai, among others, were also present during the distribution.
GOPALGANJ: Blankets were distributed among 160 needy people in Kotalipara and Tungipara upazilas of the district recently.
On behalf of the district administration, Executive Magistrates Md Sebgatulyah and Shapath Bairagi handed over the blankets to 160 cold-hit helpless people in Kotalipara and Tungipara upazilas of the district respectively.   
THAKURGAON: Blankets were distributed among over 600 poor people in the municipality.

Thakurgaon Municipality Mayor Anjuman Ara Begum Banya distributed these blankets to the needy people at Shaheed Mohammad Ali Stadium in the town recently.

Municipal AL GS Masudur Rahman Babu, President of District Football Association Prabir Kumar Gupta Bua, and GS of Thakurgaon Reporters Unity Md Asaduzzaman Asad, among others, were also present during the distribution.

BARAIGRAM, NATORE: Blankets were distributed among more than 200 FFs and the family members of FFs in Baraigram Upazila of the district recently.

Dr Siddiqur Rahman Patwari, MP, handed over these blankets to the recipients at a reception programme for the FFs held at Upazila Parishad auditorium as the chief guest.

Baraigram UNO Md Abu Russell presided over the programme.

Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Borhan Uddin Mithu, Gopalpur UP Chairman FF Abu Bakar Siddique, Chandai UP Chairman Mst Shahnaz Parveen, FF Moslem Uddin, AL Leaders Abul Kalam Azad and Ferdous Alam, and Juba League leader Jakir Hossain Sarker, among others, were also present during the distribution.
