Left-handed batter Najmul Hossain Shanto has been given the responsibility of captain for all three formats - Test, ODI and T20i - of cricket.

In addition, Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, a former captain of the national team, has been appointed as the chief selector of the team.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon provided the information after a meeting of the board of directors on Monday.

Shanto has been leading the team as a stand-in captain in the absence of regular captain Shakib Al Hasan. Prior to the ICC Cricket World Cup held in India last year, Shakib pointed that he would not be in captain's role after the tournament.

BCB brought a new selector committee along with the new captain. Only Abdur Razzaque was kept there from the previous committee while Minhazul Abedin Nannu and Habibul Bashar were dropped from there. Junior selector committee member Hannan Sarkar was added as the third member of the committee led by Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu.
