SSC examinee sits for exam leaving fathers body at home

DINAJPUR, Feb 15: A student took part on the first day of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in Birganj Upazila of the district on Thursday leaving behind his fathers body in the house.
The examinee is Md Saikat, a resident of Ward No. 9 Masterpara Village under Mohammadpur Union in the upazila. He is participating in the SSC examination from Mahanpur Adarsha High School.
Mohammadpur Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Gopal Deb Sharma said, Saikats father UP member Md Shafiul Alam Suruj died of heart failure in the house at around 7 pm on Wednesday. His Namaz-e-Janaza was held at 3 pm on Thursday.
As the examination began from Thursday, Saikat participated in the Bengali First Paper exam at Rahim Bakhsh High School Centre in Bhognagar Union of the upazila in the morning while his fathers body was still in the house, the UP chairman added.
Birganj Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md Julfikar Ali Shah and Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Raj Kumar Biswas confirmed the news.
