Export orders worth around Tk 392 crore have been received at this years Dhaka International Trade Fair, said fair director Bibek Sarkar. He also said that approximately Tk 400 crore worth of products were sold in the fair.
This information was announced in a press release after the closing ceremony on Tuesday.
He said that this years trade fair has received export orders worth 35.62 million US dollars (Bangladeshi currency, which is Tk 391.82 crore), which is 17.25 per cent more than the export orders received in last years fair. About Tk 400 crore worth of products were sold at the fair, which is 15 per cent more than last year.
State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu was the chief guest at the closing ceremony organized at the multipurpose hall of Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal. It was presided over by Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce. FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam and Export Development Bureau Vice-Chairman AHM Ahsan were special guests on the occasion.
Trophies were awarded to the best pavilions, stalls and organizations in various categories at the closing ceremony of the fair.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Dhaka International Trade Fair-2024 on January 21. Dhaka International Trade Fair is being organized since 1995 as a joint initiative of Ministry of Commerce and Export Development Bureau to promote, spread, market and produce domestic products.
