Customs intelligence detained four passengers coming from Dubai with 2.104kg gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday night.
The detained men are Munshiganj's Abdul Quadir, 42, Patuakhali's Md Jewel Hossain, 34, and Ibrahim Khalil, 40; and Gazipur's Khorshed Alam, 42.
A case under Special Power Act has been filed against them with the Airport Police Station.
Additional Superintendent of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) police Mohammad Ziaul Haque said a flight of US Bangla from Dubai landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 4:55am. As per the information given by NSI, a team of Customs intelligence detained the four suspecting their movement.
Later the team recovered 2.104 kilograms of gold, including bars, powder, and jewelry; valued at approximately Tk 1.74 crore, from their possessions after searching their bodies.
