Seven SSC examinees hurt in road mishap, one misses exam

At least 10 people, including seven SSC examinees, were injured after a picnic bus hit two auto-rickshaws at Kaliganj upazila in Gazipur district on Thursday.

The accident took place took place around 9:15 am on the Gazipur-Ajmatpur-Itakhola regional highway in Duburia area.
Kaliganj Police Station sub-inspector Rejaul Karim said a picnic bus from Narsingdi district hit two auto-rickshaws, leaving at least 10 people injured.


Among them, seven people were going to attend their SSC examination at a centre and three others were their guardians.

Six examinees were able to appear in the examination after receiving primary treatment, however, another examinee named Maimuna had to be admitted to a hospital along with her mother being critically injured.

Legal steps in this regard were under process, the SI added.
