Tk 10 lakh property burnt at Ajmiriganj

HABIGANJ, Feb 22: Goods and properties worth about Tk  10 were gutted in a devastating fire which broke out in Bhakulia Village in Ajmiriganj Upazila of the district on Monday night.

Locals and eyewitnesses said, the fire erupted from the house of Bulu Miah of the village at about 8pm  due to electric short circuit, which spread over the adjacent residential houses within a short time.

All three residential houses along with all belongings got burnt to ashes.

After seeing the fire, locals rushed to the spot and  extinguished fire and brought the situation under control within one and a half hour.  

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jewel Bhoumik confirmed the incident. He said, financial assistance from the government will be given to the affected families.
