Two women die in Satkhira road mishap

Two women die and four others were injured in a road accident in Satkhira's Ashashuni upazila on Friday morning.

The accident took place in Nawapara area around 9 am.
The deceased were Nafzila Khatun, 60, hailed from Paikgachha upazila in Khulna, and Asia Begum, 45, from Laksikhola village of the same upazila.

Ashashuni Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Rafiqul Islam said six passengers were going towards Satkhira town by an easy bike in the morning. When it reached in that area, a pick-up van coming from the opposite direction ran over the easy bike. The two women died on the spot.

The bodies have been sent to Satkhira morgue for autopsy. The injured have been taken to Satkhira Sadar Hospital. The pickup was seized but the driver fled, the inspector added.
