Candidate expelled for adopting unfair means in JU entry test

The candidacy of an admission seeker was cancelled for adopting unfair means in the Wednesday exam for the "D" unit of the Jahangirnagar University admission test.

The penalized individual, identified as Sazzad Hossain alias Miraz, hails from Lakshmipur and is the son of Ershad Uddin Selim.
Earlier on Wednesday morning, Miraz appeared for the second shift of the entrance test for the Biological Sciences Faculty (D unit) in room number 282 of the universitys Social Sciences Faculty building.

During the test, Professor Nazrul Islam, an invigilator on duty, observed a candidate keeping his mobile phone under the admit card and utilizing Google to answer questions.

The invigilator subsequently requested the proctorial body to take the candidate into custody for questioning.

According to the Proctors Office, the penalized individual confessed to his wrongdoing during interrogation.

Following a comprehensive assessment, the university administration infor-med Assistant Commi-ssioner (Land) of Ashulia Circle and Executive Magistrate Md Ashrafur Rahman.

JU Proctor ASM Firoz-ul-Hasan stated, "The executive magistrate evaluated all aspects of his misconduct and consequently cancelled his candidacy, including his eligibility for all upcoming unit exams."

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) central unit formed a four-member inquiry committee. The committee visited the JU campus on Wednesday and engaged in discussions with various university stakeholders regarding the recent incident of chaos in its university unit.
