Man killed, 6 injured in boiler explosion fire in Gazipur

GAZIPUR, Feb 28: A man was killed and six others were injured in a boiler explosion at a factory in Jamtala area of Gazipur on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased was Likhon Mia, 24, son of Sikandar Ali and a resident of Gaibandha district.
Quoting locals Gazipur Fire Service Deputy Director Abdullah Al Arefin said the fire broke out  at around 1:30pm at the factory of Intelligent Card Limited in the area following a blast while setting a machine, leaving Likhon dead  on the spot and six others injured.  On information, two units from Joydebpur Fire Station rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

The injured were admitted to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital, he said.
