Dr Lata Akter, who was injured in burning along with her former husband at her own home in Morjal union under Raipura upazila in Narisngdi district, succumbed on Thursday.
The 29-year-old doctor died while underwent treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Institute at about 1:30pm on Thursday.
Earlier, Dr Lata's former husband Khalil died while he was undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Monday afternoon.
Dr Tariqul Islam, Resident Surgeon of Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Institute, confirmed about Dr Lata's death.
The family of Dr Lata alleged that former husband Khalil suddenly appeared at Lata's home at Raipura in Narsingdi district on February 25 last. Then he set fire to Dr Lata pouring petrol on her and then on him closing the doors of Dr Lata's room from inside.
Rescuing them in critical condictions, Dr Lata was first rushed to a local clinic and then shifted to Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Institute in Dhaka.
On the other hand, Khalil was admitted to the DMCH.
Dr Lata's parents alleged that Khalilur was a driver by profession. He hid about his profession during his love affair and marriage with Lata. Knowing it after the marriage, Dr Lata divorced Khalil. Being angry over it, Khalil appeared at Lata's home after six months and set fire to Dr Lata and himself pouring petrol.
Dr Lata and her mother lived at the village home. He father died. Two elder brother and sister are expatriates in Italy. Lata worked at a private hospital in Narayangaj obtaining MBBS degree from Shahabuddin Medical College in the capital. On the other hand, Khalil hailed from Kapasia in Gazipur district.
