Bangladesh Railway (BR) will start selling advance train tickets for Eid-ul-Fitr from March 24.
BR's acting director general Sardar Shahadat Ali revealed the information in a press conference at Rail Bhaban in the capital on Wednesday.
He said the railway authorities fixed the date considering April 11 will be the Eid day.
He said passengers will be able to purchase the tickets of April 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 on March 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 respectively.
Return train tickets sale for April 13 will start from April 3, he added.
For a hassle-free service for the passengers in the holy month of Ramadan, cent percent railway tickets will be available online, he said.
