APBN recovers Tk 3.5 lakh within 48 hrs of disappearance


Members of Armed Police Battalion (APBN)'s recovered Tk 3,51,160 of a Saudi expatriate named Zakaria within 24 hours of its disappearance at Sylhet Osmani International Airport.

Airport Camp ASP Mofizul Islam Osmani confirmed this information through a press conference at Osmani Airport at 8:30 pm on Friday (March 15).
Khaled Mia, a resident under Rajnagar Upazila of Moulvibazar, has been arrested in the incident.

ASP Police Mofizul Islam said expatriate Zakaria and his three brothers arrived at Sylhet airport on a Bangladesh Biman flight from Sharjah of UAE at around 8:30 am on March 13.

While scanning the baggage from the customs, his wallet along with 10,540 Saudi Riyals which is Tk 3,51,160 in Bangladeshi Taka disappeared. Later, when he made a complaint with APBN airport office, APBN team identified the culprit within 48 hours.
 
Mofizul Islam also said that accused Khaled was arrested from Rajnagar in Moulvibazar on Friday under the leadership of Police Inspector SM Al Mamun of Osmani International Airport Camp of APBN. Later, the money was recovered from him and handed over to Zakaria.
