The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the 15-member squad for the three-match womens ODI series against Australia on Saturday.

Experienced wicketkeeper-batter Shamima Sultana has been ruled out of the series due to injury and will undergo surgery soon.

Uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Farzana Hoque Lisa has received her maiden international call-up as a replacement for Shamima.

Lisa represented Rupali Bank Krira Parishad in the last Dhaka Premier League (DPL) and scored 181 runs from six matches at an average of 36.20.

All-rounder Lata Mondol and Shorifa Khatun have been dropped from the side and are named as standbys alongside Fariha Islam Trisna. Standbys for the South Africa tour, Sharmin Akter and Sanjida Akter have been omitted. Teenage off-spinner Nishita Akter Nishi has made a comeback.

Nigar Sultana Jyoti will lead the Tigresses with spinner Nahida Akter named as her deputy.

Australia are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka today to play three ODIs and as many T20i matches. The one-day matches will be held on March 21, 24 and 27, respectively, while the T20i matches are slated for March 31, April 2 and 4.

All matches will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

The ODI series is part of the 2022-25 ICC Womens Championship.
