Remembering Bangabandhu

When the historians are poised to narrate the being of The Father of the nation from Khoka, they are likely to narrate the journey of Sheikh Mujib from a mere seedling to a great tree that spreads its branches to all directions providing shades for the perched passers-by.The narration necessarily hintsat the "Development Process", which led Sheikh Mujib to become the redeemer of the nation. It says, the core belief of Bangalee nationalism, socio-political justice, the economic freedom of the then East Pakistan, the relentless work for the materialization of his core belief, the sacrifice of a comfortable life, and the call for revolution against the sea of troubles that succeeded him to claim the unique title, Bangabandhu, which is an uncontested attire for a Bangladeshi.

We say, the address as Bangabandhu or the father of the nation is not an "imposed title" on Khoka, rather they are "self-achieved".The self-imposition and self-achievement are reversed in nature, and both of them have diverse significance and glory. For instance, the tyrant Kangsho got a heavenly forecastthat You will be killed by one, who is growing in Gokul. Here, the reference tells the growth of God Sree Krishna, who was born to kill Kangsho according to Hindu mythology. Here, the birth and the activity of the lord are predestined, and this birth is inevitable for the sake of mythological accomplishment. The same imposition may be addressed to Jesus Christ as the Magi could fix the time and birthplace of Christ by reading the stars and they happened to visit the stable in Bethlehem where Mother Mary gave birth to a neonate, Jesus Christ. These births were essential, thus claiming little focus to deal with the time and place of the birth and their development process. On the other hand, the emergence of Bangabandhu is not miraculous, rather it was the choice on the part of this great man to think for the greater good even from his early youth.

There goes a proverb that Birth, be that as it may, action be it well. Here, the proverb appraises that action is above the extent of the birth. Bangabandhu, Abraham Lingkon, Martin Luther King Jr., and Nelson Mandela may not be predetermined entities as were for Lord Krishna and Jesus Christ. After all, they are famed for their service to humanity. Thus, they could establish their history of being in the national as well as world anthology of the makers of civilized society. For their contribution, the annals of their birth are observed, which we claim as the self-achieved title on the part of the men, who created myths and turned to be the myth-makers. Bangabandhu is, thus, a myth-maker of the Bangalee mythology of being and becoming.

Now it may peep on the mind, What led Khoka to culminate into he father of a nation?. Obviously he time, and the man in mujib helped him to be glorified. It needs to analyze the temporal-spatial relationship regarding the making of a persona. A time is some total of prevalent ideas about religious belief, socio-cultural values, and economic and political activities, which are considered as the conventions in consideration to that time. Then it also happens that the strong conventional trends, within the practicing conventions, produce anti-sentiment among the few if it is not possible to take action against those conventions for many of them at the first level of growth of the anti-sentiment. The stronger the trends the stronger the anti-sentiment.

For instance, the construction of "the State Language Movement Council- 1948" reveals the problem of acceptance of Bangalees mother tongue as the state language.  That is, the theory of Angels is implied here as the thesis produces anti-thesis and the struggle between them produces synthesis. The history and the pogrom of the Pakistani pariah government following the events in 52, 54, 56, 62, 66, 69, 70, and 71 clarify how the situation was, and how they were reversing the Bangalee sentiments against the Pakistani hegemony. Thus, the time when Khoka was experiencing Pakistani hegemony led Mujib to take action against that hegemony.

Next, the second question may emerge logically why did Sheikh Mujib confront the sea of troubles? Why there were no other personalities to grab the teaching of the time? As per the belief indicator trait, human belongs to the peripheral, semi-peripheral, or core borderline of values. The men who belong to the peripheral borderline belief, believe the conventions and follow them without any subterfuge.

The men who belong to semi-peripheral borderline belief, believe in conventions but do not follow or do not believe in conventions but follow them. Perhaps, they do not have much courage to take action against the convention or do not feel like taking action. The third category of men does not trust in the convention and does not follow them as mandatory. They are imaginative, innovative, and creative. As per their mental aptitude, they tend to deconstruct the conventions and give birth to a new way of belief against those prevailing pariah dogmas.

Mujib belongs to the third category of believer trait; he could imagine the ensuing future of the countrys people under the Pakistani realm, innovate a new way of living in freedom, and create a new course of the historical process of Bangladesh. He possessed courage enough to take arms against the realms of the sea. He declares "I am by the side of the oppressed". He initiates a revolution in which he believes that no one will suppress us. Thus, he clarified his stanch before the world and acted to visualize his dreamy land.

The totality of the aforementioned reviews verifies that the time created Sheikh Mujib as he could perceive the teaching of the time and create his way of course that was revered in the course of imperialism. He created a saga of Bangalee heroism and made the mythology of Bangladesh. Thus, an urchin boy transformed to be amythmaker following his perception of Pakistani hegemony, courage to expression, and magical power of raising public conscience and calling for revolutionary action.
