Chief Justice emphasizes non-communal spirit for nat’l harmony

Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan said that irrespective of caste and religion, the prerequisite for peaceful living of countrys people is to awaken the non-communal spirit.

"The country should be developed in a non-communal spirit for the greater interest of the peaceful living by all people," the Chief Justice came up with the comments at the Judges Lounge after paying tribute at the "Smriti Chiranjeev" memorial at the Supreme Court inner Garden on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahmans birth anniversary and National Childrens Day.

Chief Justice said, "Bangabandhu loved people. He had this quality from childhood. He made this country free by loving the people and fighting for their liberation. Even, with his life, he has tried to protect the interests of the people of this country."

At one stage, Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan said, "Regardless of caste and religion, the prerequisite for peaceful living of all the people of this country is to awaken the non-communal spirit."

 In order to achieve prosperity in all spheres, including economic, what the state needs is solidarity among all. And its prerequisite is to build a country in a non-communist spirit.

Among others, Appellate Division Justice M Enayetur Rahim, High Court Division Justice also spoke at the function organized at Judges Lounge of the Supreme Court. Besides, Judges of both Divisions of the Supreme Court, Supreme Court officers, employees and their children were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, a fourth class student presented his portrait of Bangabandhu to the Chief Justice. At the end of the ceremony, the Chief Justice gave chocolates to the children.
