Savar fire: Death toll rises to three

Another person, who was sustained burn injuries in a fire reportedly caused by a gas leakage at a flat in Dhamrai of Savar, died on Monday morning while being treated at a hospital in the capital, raising the death toll to three. 

The deceased was Sohag Hossain, 18, son of former health inspector of Shimulia Union of Savar Upazila late Nurul Islam, was undergoing treatment in the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. 

He died early Monday, hospital sources said. 

Earlier, on Sunday Md Nurul Islam and his wife Sufia Begum, 50, died at the burn institute.

However, Nisrat Jahan Sathi, 22, the only daughter of the family is alive.

On March 26, a fire broke out at a flat in Dhamrai due to gas cylinder leakage during Sehri time. 

Four members of the same family were seriously injured. They were rescued and admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital.
