The authorities of Sonali Bank suspended its activities in Ruma, Thanchi and Rowangchhari upazilas in Bandarban following Wednesday's robbery incidents at two branches.
But the activities of other banks in the district are going on.
Osmani Gani, deputy general manager of Bandarban's Sonali Bank branch, said, "We temporarily kept the bank activities stopped in the three upazila."
Ruma branch bank manager Nizam Uddin is still missing, he added.
Tense situation is prevailing in the Ruma and Thanchi upazila following the robbery incidents.
Additional police, RAB and APBn members are deployed in the upazilas to keep the situation under control.
Armed miscreants attacked Sonali Bank and Krishi banks' Ruma and Thanchi upazilas on Tuesday night and Wednesday noon. They looted Tk 17,85,000 and seized firearms of the security members.
They also snatched away mobile phone sets of several persons while leaving the banks.
