A man was allegedly stabbed to death by his son at Fulbaria upazila in Kurigram district on Saturday.
The incident happened around 11:00 am at Sor Jotindro Narayon village in the upazila.
The deceased was Akbar Ali alias Ekabbor Member, 59, a resident of the Sor Jotindro Narayon village.
Locals said Sazidul, deceased's son, is mentally disorder.
On Saturday morning, he stabbed his parents mercilessly as he could not find any food in the kitchen for eating, leaving them critically injured.
Later, locals rescued them but Akbar succumbed to his injuries on the way to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Pran Krishno Debnath, officer in-charge of Fulbari Police Station, said, “police have been arrested the accused. A case will be filed against him. The body will be handed over to the family after completing autopsy.”
