BJP releases poll manifesto, promises benefits to elderly, transgenders, farmers

NEW DELHI, Apr 16: The BJPs optimistically titled manifesto Modi ki Guarantee 2024 (Mods guarantee) released only four days before Indias general election, promises to provide treatment free of cost to transgenders and citizens above the age of 70 by bringing them under the ambit of Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

A flagship scheme of the Indian government, the Ayushman Bharat scheme was launched to achieve the vision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Making this announcement after releasing the party manifesto /SankalpPatra at the BJP headquarters extension here amid loud applause on Sunday, PM Modi said, "BJP has decided to bring transgender community also under the ambit of Ayushman Bharat scheme. BJP has resolved that every elderly person above the age of 70 years will be brought under the ambit of AyushmanYojana. Every senior citizen above the age of 70 years, whether poor, middle class or upper middle class, will get free treatment up to Rs five lakh," he added.

He also said, "Modi guarantees that the free ration scheme for the poor will continue for the next five years.

 We will ensure that the poor persons food plate is nutritious, satiating, affordable and pocket- friendly. It is Modis guarantee that we will construct three crore more houses for the poor in addition to the four crore houses that the government has constructed. We will also work towards providing affordable pipe gas supply to all households. \

The Prime Minister said that the partys focus is on the dignity of life, quality of life and jobs through investment. " ThisSankalpPatra empowers four main pillars of Viksit Bharat, namely- youth power, women power, the poor and farmers.\

He said that BJP has been working tirelessly to ensure social development and social inclusion in a true sense.  He said that in the last ten years, BJP has executed all the promises made in the manifesto. "The manifesto is aimed at making India self sufficient,\ PM said.

 " By lifting 25 crore people out of poverty in the last ten years, we have proved that our work is result oriented.\

He further announced that the BJP has decided to double the amount of the MUDRA Yojana loan from 10 lakh to 20 lakh.

"In past years, MUDRA Yojana has turned crores of people into entrepreneurs and job creators. Looking at this success, BJP has taken one more sankalp - under MUDRA Yojana loans up to Rs 10 lakhs were provided. Now the BJP has decided to increase the limit to Rs 20 lakhs.\

He said that the BJP looks at the economy of villages and wants to make India a global nutrition and food processing hub. "This will benefit farmers and create new avenues for employment. The food processing plants will become new growth engines for the rural economy. We will also give emphasis on natural farming and use of nano urea. \

Talking of infrastructure development, PM Modi said that the bullet train project between Ahmadabad and Mumbai is progressing well and is nearing completion. He said that the government will initiate survey for bullet train corridors in north, south and east India.
