Rain likely in three divisions, heat wave grips elsewhere

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur in one or two places over Chattogram, Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions in the next 24 hours.

The Meteorological Office made such a forecast on Sunday (April 21).

Meteorologist Omar Faruk said that the extension of the low pressure is over West Bengal in India and adjoining areas.

Elsewhere in the country, the weather will be mainly dry with partly cloudy skies. A very intense heat wave is blowing in Pabna, Jashore and Chuadanga districts. Intense heat wave is flowing over the rest of Khulna division including Rajshahi district and Dhaka division. Mild to moderate heat wave is moving over the rest of Barishal Division and Rajshahi Division including Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Feni, Cox's Bazar, Chandpur and Rangamati districts and may continue.

Day temperature may rise by (1-2) degrees Celsius over Rangpur division and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country.

Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Due to increase of moisture incursion, the discomfort may persists.

Country's highest temperature on Saturday was recorded 42.6 degrees Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature today was 20.5 degree Celsius at Tetulia.

The sun sets at 06:23 PM Sunday and rises at 05:31 AM Monday in the capital.
