Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) on Sunday increased gold price by Tk 630 per bhori, a day after it reduced by Tk 840 per bhori on Saturday.
With this, the apex body of the countrys gold traders has increased gold price by Tk 5,190 per bhori four times in April.
Bajus decreased gold price by Tk 840 per bhori on Saturday on the back of increasing the price four times on April 6, 8, 18 and 21.
Bangladesh witnessed such unstable gold market for the first time with the record high price of gold at Tk 11,9428 per bhori of 22-carat gold as BAJUSs new rate came into effect from 3.30 pm on Sunday (April21).
Masudur Rahman, Chairman of Bajus Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee issued a notice in this regard. As per the new price, per bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold will sell now at Tk 119428 per bhori.
Apart from this, the price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 114,003 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 97,709 per bhori and the price of traditional gold has been set at Tk78,662.
Though the price of gold has increased, the price of silver remained unchanged. Category wise, the price of 22-carat silver is now at Tk 2,100 per bhori, 21-carat is Tk 2,006, 18-carat is Tk1,715 and the price of traditional silver is Tk1,283.
