BSF kills Bangladeshi youth in B'baria

A Bangladeshi youth was reportedly shot to death by India's Border Security Force (BSF) at Putiya border area in Kosba upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Hasan Mia, 25, son of Jaru Mia, a resident of Kaiyumpur union of the upazila.

According to the deceased family members, Hasan along with his friends went to visit zero point of Putia border when a BSF team opened fire on them, leaving Hasan dead on the spot.

On the other hand, Kosba Police Station's officer-in-charge Raju Ahmed alleged that locals said Hasan was involved in sugar smuggling. He shot to death while smuggling sugar through the border.

The body was brought back to Kosba Upazila Health Complex and it will be sent to Brahmanbaria General Hospital morgue for autopsy, added the OC.
