One killed as bus ploughs into shop in Bagerhat


A young man was killed after a bus ploughed into a roadside shop at Kochua upazila in Bagerhat district on Tuesday

The accident took place on the Bagerhat-Pirojpur highway in Matharia area at around 6:00 am.
Deceased Rakib Mollik, 27, was son of Harun Mollik, a resident of Puthiakhali village under Morelganj upazila in the district

Two people who were asleep inside the shop survived, however, the bus driver sustained injuries as he got stuck in the seat.

Ekhlas, owner of the shop, said the speedy bus ploughed through his shop and fell into a nearby ditch.

Katakhali Highway Police Station sub-inspector Ashraf Ali said police and firefighters rescued the bus driver and sent him to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
