JU students seize 8 buses, release in exchange for Tk 60,000

A group of students of Jahangirnagar University seized eight buses of Ititas  Paribahan following an accident with a private car of a female student of the university on Saturday morning at Savar area.

Following the accident, the female student called her peers to seize the buses.

The buses are kept at the universitys main entrance area of Dhaka-Aricha highway to claim compensation for severe damage of the reported car, according to the universitys security office.

The victim, a masters student of JU computer science and technology department, said, "Due to a sudden hard brake at the New Market area at Savar, my car was in an accident. I want compensation for careless driving."

However, in the evening, the seized buses were released on condition of providing Tk 60,000 compensation to the car owner, Itihas Paribahan checker Jasim Uddin said.
