The road communication of Baghaichari upazila in Rangamati with the rest of the country resumed after eight hours for the vehicles on Friday afternoon.

A landslide triggered by heavy rain had cut off the communication of Rangamati with other districts.
Baghaichari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shirin Akhtar has confirmed the news.
She said Army personnel of 6-Bengal Baghaighat Zone had started work to restore the communication.

Later, Roads and Highways Department employees with heavy machineries joined them in the morning to clear the mud from the Baghaichari-Dighinala road and restored the traffic

Earlier, on Thursday night the landslide occurred and no vehicles have been able to enter or leave the upazila.

No casualties, however, were reported in the incident.
