Shafiul wants to change BASIS

Hyper Tag Solutions Limited's Managing Director Shafiul Alam is contesting in the general category in the election of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS). He is running for the position of Director under the panel 'Team Success'.

If elected, he aims to create regulatory frameworks for business growth and expansion in both national and international IT markets, work closely with the government for IT project implementation, and facilitate easier access to funding through the Equity Entrepreneurship Fund (EEF).

Shafiul Alam, the founder and CEO of Hyper Tag Solutions Limited, has been working diligently in the country's IT sector for the past seventeen years.

Another candidate for Team Success, Shafiul Alam, stated, "I have been involved in various activities of BASIS for the past 13 years. Before every election, every candidate promises various commitments to the members, so there is widespread enthusiasm among the members. However, after being elected, many standing committees are formed, which become effective and stable for only two to three months, resulting in loss of interest among members. As a result, we have seen that during the rest of the year, issues such as policy, procurement planning, tax issues, market development issues, achieving the government's target of $5 billion, and the need for access to finance for members all become stagnant. As a result, a past ineffective council has been recognized."

Shafiul Alam said, "I do not aim for much representation of BASIS in the government's work on procurement planning and solving various existing problems with the government. This is very unfortunate."

He added, "I want to work on the development of both the local and international markets. At this moment, we need a marketplace of our own in the local market. As the founder of Freelancer.com, I want to create regulatory frameworks for business growth and expansion in both national and international IT markets. Where local companies can work and international companies can get assistance through BASIS's platform."

He said, "Currently, we are working with the government on a project for the development of the international market. Based on that experience, I want to create a "Bangladesh IT Desk" in collaboration with BASIS, the government, and development organizations. Where we want to bring work to Bangladesh through activation and awareness from North America to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East and attract investment."

The Managing Director of Hyper Tag Solutions Limited stated, "For many years, BASIS has been organizing the annual Soft Expo using an outdated template. Where mainly an attempt was made to crowdsource students and the general public. It was about connecting and targeting each industry, including pharmaceuticals, garments, and FMCG, at Soft Expo. Where there would be a sales record. Unfortunately, it is true that due to the lack of appropriate and effective decisions for so long, we cannot transform this event into an effective Soft Expo."

Finally, he said, "I want to run my organization forward year by year, month by month, and day by day with love and dedication. In the same way, I want to keep BASIS effective and progressive."

Already, voters have shown interest in Shafiul Alam. Most voters believe that under the leadership of BASIS, Shafiul Alam can contribute.

The BASIS election will be held on May 8th.
