Liton, Sajal, Arun elected as chairmen in 3 upazilas of Bogura

In Bogura's Sonatola upazila, Advocate Minhaduzzaman Liton was re-elected as the Chairman of the upazila in the first phase of the Sixth Upazila Parishad Election on Wednesday while Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain Sajal was elected in Sariakandi upazila and Arun Kumar Chakraborty elected in Gabtali upazila.

Minhaduzzaman Liton, President of Sonatola Upazila Awami League, got 20,483 votes with pineapple symbol. His only rival Zakir Hossain got 7,3,45 votes. Before this, in the last upazila election in 2019, Minhaduzzaman Liton was elected to the post with the boat symbol.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain Sajal, son of ex MP member of Parliament late Abdul Mannan, got 37,248 votes with pineapple symbol in Sariakandi upazila. His closest candidate, Rezaul Karim Montu got 6,153 votes.

On the other hand, in Gabtali upazila, Arun Kumar got 41,609 votes and his nearest candidate Rafi Newaz Khan Rabin got 39,752 votes. There were four chairman candidates in the upazila.
