A court in Sirajganj has sentenced two persons to life term imprisonment in a drug case filed in 2022.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-2 Judge Md Abul Bashar Mia passed the verdict on Thursday afternoon. The court also fined them Tk 20,000 each, in default, they will have to suffer six more months in jail.
The convicts were -- Ramzan Ali, 27, son of Jamal Hussain of Bujruk Srimantapur area of Godagari municipality of Rajshahi district, and Bani Israel, 32, son of Yunus Ali of the same area.
According to the case documents, on May 21, 2022, RAB-12 members stopped vehicles setting up a check-post in Solanga area. They searched various vehicles and recovered 100 grams of heroin from the possession of the convicts.
RAB filed a case with Solanga Police Station in this connection.
