Teenager injured in crude bomb explosion

A teenage boy was injured after an abandoned crude bomb exploded at Naya Paltan in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

The boy is Sunny, 16, who collected rags from Kakrail area, suffered splinter injuries on both of his hands and legs.
According to Sunny, he found a shopping bag near an automobile shop at Naya Paltan and as he searched inside the shopping bag, the explosion occurred.

Sunny, son of Titu Mia, was first rushed to Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Mohammad Ali, Sub-Inspector of Paltan Police Station.

Monir Hossain Molla, Officer-in-Charge of Paltan Police Station, said two crude bombs were also found inside the bag and later those were taken to safe place. The official said they are investigating the incident.
