Prionty Mondal, who secured the first position in the Arts, Law, and Social Sciences unit admission test at Dhaka University (DU) for the 2023-24 academic year, has criticised the University Coaching Centre (UCC) for falsely advertising that she was their student.

UCC allegedly used her image for commercial gain, aiming to attract new admission seekers.

Prionty firmly clarified that she was a student of the Khulna branch of Focus University Admission Coaching and had no association with any other tutoring institutions.

Her integrity has been widely praised, with various communities highlighting it as a testament to honesty.
Several DU law students said that UCCs actions constitute an offence.

On March 28, upon learning she had achieved the highest marks, Prionty posted on her Facebook wall, expressing gratitude to the Creator, her family, and the Focus coaching centre.

She wrote, "From the beginning, I was tutored at Focus-Khulna and received maximum support from them."
Despite her clear statement,

UCC continued to circulate false advertisements using her image.
These misleading ads appeared both online and on posters and banners nationwide.

As of now, UCCs Facebook group cover photo still prominently features Priontys image, highlighting her achievement.
It is reported that Prionty and her family declined UCCs offer to endorse their institution.

Prionty, demonstrating strong character, chose not to pursue legal action against UCC, preferring a peaceful solution.
"This is the first such trouble in my life," Prionty told the Daily Observer.

However, her father expressed concerns about potential repercussions from UCC.

"I attended classes and examinations solely at Focus coaching center during the university admission tests. I don understand why UCC claims Im their student," Prionty told this correspondent.

She explained, "The UCC Managing Director argued that Im their student because I attended a free seminar at the institution at the beginning of the admission period. But attending a seminar does not mean I was enrolled at UCC or participated in their classes and examinations. Their actions are unjust."

Prionty added that the UCC MD contacted her father, insisting him to delete her Facebook post, clarifying her lack of affiliation with UCC.

Priontys father, Pankaj Kumar Mondal, told the Daily Observer, "UCC representatives called me multiple times, requesting to delete my daughters Facebook post. I refused. How can I teach my daughter to be dishonest? I will not do this."

Contacted over the phone, UCC Managing Director Kamal Uddin Patwary requested this correspondent to meet him at his office.
Besides remarkable achievement in Dhaka University admission test, Prionty secured the second position in both B and C unit admission tests of Jahangirnagar University (JU).
