World No-Tobacco Day observed in dists

World No-Tobacco Day was observed on Friday across the country and the globe in a befitting manner.

This years theme of the Day is - "Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference."

To mark the Day, different programmes were organized in districts including Noakhali, Pirojpur and Rangamati.

NOAKHALI: On this occasion, different programmes were organized in the district.

A rally was brought out in the morning, which paraded the main streets of the town.

After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the deputy commissioners (DC) office in the town.
Additional DC (General) Sharmin Ara was present as the chief guest while District Magistrate Muhammad Ismail presided over the meeting.

Additional Superintend of Police (ASP) (Administration and Finance) Bijoja Sen attended the programme as the special guest.

Noakhali Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Akhinur Jahan Nila, District Education Officer Nur Uddin Md Jahangir, and journalists from electronic and print media, among others, were also present at the event.

PIROJPUR: In this connection, the district administration organized different programmes in the town.

A rally was brought out from the premises of Pirojpur Circuit House in the morning, and it ended on the DC office premises after parading the main streets of the town.

Later on, a discussion meeting and training of the district task force members for controlling tobacco was organized in the conference room of the DC office in the town.  

Pirojpur DC Mohammad Jahedur Rahman attended the training programme as the chief guest while ADC (General) Madhubi Roy presided over the meeting.   

District Civil Surgeon Dr Md Mizanur Rahman, ADC (Education and ICT) Khanjada Shahriar Bin Mannan, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station Julfikar Ali, Journalists Moniruzman Nasim Ali, Mahmud Hosen Sukur and Ziaul Ahsan, and NGO activists Md Rafiqul Islam Panna, among others, also spoke on the occasion.

Executive Magistrate of the district administration Towfiq Anwar conducted the session.    

Government officials, public representatives, NGO activists, and trading leaders were also present there.

RANGAMATI: To mark the Day, different programmes were organized in the district.

A discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the DC office in the town in the morning on the occasion of the Day.
The district administration organized the programme.

Rangamati DC Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan presided over the meeting.

ADC (Education and ICT) Nasreen Sultana, District CS Nuen Khisa, ASP (Sadar Circle) Zahidul Islam, and General Secretary of Pratibandhi School Nurur Absar, among others, were also present at the discussion.

Various harmful aspects of tobacco were discussed at the meeting. Representatives of various institutions and students were present in the meeting.

Before the meeting, an awareness rally was brought out from the premises of the DC office, and it ended at the same place after parading the main streets of the town.
