A day-long training was held at the New Bandhon Community Centre located in Narayanganj by United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) to improve the skills of entrepreneurs working in the agriculture, livestock and fisheries sectors.

About 130 entrepreneurs from 5 upazilas of the district participated in the training.

In the speech of the chief guest, Additional Managing Director and Company Secretary ATM Tahmiduzzaman said: "UCB is implementing the Bhoroshar Notun Janala project to improve the skills of agri-entrepreneurs across the country and provide loan assistance on easy terms with the aim of developing commercial agriculture. We want farmers to become entrepreneurs.

Thats why, we are organizing training involving the agri-entrepreneurs from 64 districts of the country as a part of our corporate social responsibility following the directive of the Bangladesh Bank.

Narayanganj is the 51st district where we are conducting this training. We want to be with the farmers and instil confidence in them."

"Farmers should turn themselves into entrepreneurs. For that to happen, business knowledge should be increased. When to produce a product and how to make it more profitable - there should be knowledge about these things.

In order to survive in the competition, the quality and variety of products should be increased. Be creative. Only then you will be able to attain success", opined Rezaul Karim Siddique, the special guest of the training program.
