18 animals burnt alive as cattle shed gutted in fire

Eight cattle and 10 goats were burnt alive when a cattle shed caught fire and was completely gutted at Kathalia upazila in Jhalakathi district early Monday. 

The incident occurred at 3:30 am at South Sasri village in the upazila. 

It was learnt that the fire originated from a mosquito coil and the shed was engulfed in flames within a short time. 

On information, a team of Kathalia Fire Service rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control with the help of locals, said Siqqiqur Rahman, team leader of Kathalia Fire Service. 
Dilip Chandra Samaddar said, owner of the cattle shed, said I could not protect anything as the shed was far away from my house. The estimate damage almost TK 15 lakh in the incident. 

Kathalia Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Nesar Uddin said that the farmer would be helped by the upazila administration.
