Defending champions England will take on Scotland to start their World Cup campaign. The sixth match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will start at 8 30 pm Bangladesh Standard Time.

England head into the game as favourites after having headed into the tournament with a 2-0 win over Pakistan in a 4-match series at home.

However, Jos Buttler and his men will keep in mind the lack of preparation time when they head into the group stage. Having played on batter-friendly pitches, the game against Scotland is likely to be played on a slow pitch at the Kensington Oval where Namibia defeated Oman in the first Group B match.

It is at the Kensington Oval where Paul Collingwood's men scripted history, winning England's maiden men's T20 World Cup crown. In the following decade, England have gone on to become one of the powerhouses in white-ball cricket. However, Jos Buttler and Matthew Mott have a task in hand to make sure they put behind the disappointment of the ODI World Cup.
England have an easier route to the Super 8 stage, considering they have only Australia as the other Test-playing nation in Group. England would want to start their campaign on a dominant note.

England vs Scotland Predicted XIs
England XI: Phil Salt, Jos Buttler (c/wk), Will Jacks, Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Reece Topley.

Scotland XI: George Munsey, Ollie Hairs, Charlie Tear, Richie Berrington (c), Brandon McMullen, Matthew Cross (wk), Chris Greaves, Mark Watt, Christopher Sole, Safyaan Sharif, Bradley Currie.
