Shimul Bhuiyan, another suspect in a case filed over the murder of Jhenaidah-4 MP Anwarul Azim Anar, gave a confessional statement before a Dhaka court on Wednesday.
He was produced before a court by police after his remand.
As he agreed to make statement confessing his involvement in Anwarul Azim Anar murder, the investigation officer of the case Mahfuzur Rahman, also the assistant commissioner of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), applied to the court to record Shimul’s statement.
Later, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain recorded the statement of Shimul Bhuiyan alias Amanullah Sayeed.
Three accused Shimul Bhuiyan, Tanvir Bhuiyan and Shilisti Rahman were placed on five-day fresh remand after the conclusion of eight-day remand.
Among the accused, Shilasti Rahman gave her confessional statement on Monday and another accused Tanvir Bhuiyan made a confessional statement on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the case was filed by Mumtarin Ferdoush Dorin, daughter of Jhenaidah-4 lawmaker Md Anwarul Azim, with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station on May 22.
