Dhaka University (DU) secured the 554th position in the QS World University Rankings 2025. It is the best ever position of any university of the country in the Rankings.
Last year, DU was placed in between 691-700.
The 21st edition of the QS World University Rankings on Wednesday featured 1,503 institutions across 104 locations.
However, a group of people said DU, the highest seat of learning in the country, is still far behind expectation.
Others think the universitys improvement in the rankings emanates hope that the university will move forward in the coming days.
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and North South University (NSU) secured the second and third position respectively in Bangladesh according to the rankings.
Globally, BUET was placed in between 761-770 while NSU was placed in between 901-950.
BRAC University followed NSU in the list and was placed in between 1001-1200.
In addition to these three institutions, 12 more Bangladeshi universities were featured among the over 1,500 universities ranked worldwide.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States obtained its position at the top of the rankings for the 13th consecutive year.
